It's free for Genuine windows users, but does it really give full protection
2. AVG Free Edition Anti-Virus
It's also free but don't you think it's filled up with bugs.
3. Avast Anti-virus
Good anti-virus, but does it really work

Cool style, but does it really make our system cool

No anti-virus software, paid or free, gives 100% protection. Anyone who tells you that is deceiving you (and themselves).

There is no 100% protection against viruses it all depends on the user....
I had a friend that was a pro computer programmer and i asked him once what was the antivirus he was using and he told me he didn't have an antivirus installed on his computer because he didn't need it. He told me that you don't need an antivirus if you know how to be safe on the internet.... For example don't open emails from strangers that have attachments, don't download software that a website asks you to download etc... One more thing don't open emails from friends that have attachments and the attachment is a cool slideshow or whatever that they want you to see because they are viruses and they are sent automatically without your friends knowing!
There is no such thing as 100% protection, even if you used the paid anti-viruses. That is like asking the police to stop 100% of crime: even a good police force can not stop all of it.
That being said though, most of the free anti-viruses actually work a lot better than the big brand anti-viruses that charge a lot of money! All of the ones you listed work just as good (or better) than the paid programs, and all of them are relatively bug-free. My personal favorite is AVG Free: I have used it for years and never had any significant viral infections. (The current version did have some bugs at the beginning but they've fixed it now). Microsoft Security Essentials is also very good.
I used to pay for anti virus software, and now i know there is no 100% protection. now i use avg and it is the best i have been able to find. I used to use norton which is horrible, then moved to norman which is better. But as far as in my experience AVG works better than any of those two.
No, anti-virus is only as good as the updates that it has installed. Anti-virus software can only protect against known threats, but not new ones. If the anti-virus software doesn't know about the threat then the anti-virus softwafree microsoft anti virus protectionre will not even detect the virus.

Updates are necessary as your antivirus will probably 99 percent not catch the latest threats which is probably you don't want ,so look for one which sends updates .

No Free Does Not give 100% they provide...Just 80%,so that they specify in that details itself,,,If you need FULL ACCESS download it for some cost......................
no becuase there sofware is like 2 to 3 months old than pay in service.pay in services is always up to date

Viruses are developed or altered so quickly that you should never consider any computer connected to the internet as 100% safe. There are things called "zero day exploits" - this is malware that exploits a piece of software or the anti-virus programs themselves because they are so new that there is not yet a defense against them.
The use of any of these programs doesn't mean you can leave common sense behind and click on everything and anything you come across. No security program can be completely safe, as new viruses and variants are developed all the time and this is what makes computers vulnerable to zero-day attacks.
It doesn't matter if your anti-virus program is free or not, they both offer roughly the same degree of protection, except you get help and support with the paid versions. I've had computers that have used the free version AVG for years with no problem and I've worked in companies that have McAfee Enterprise Edition and Microsoft ForeFront where computers have become infected.
For general protection I used to recommend AVG or Avast free editions but I've found that Microsoft Security Essentials - - gives just as good protection but is faster and uses less resources.
You're correct, but that's not the right point of view. Free antivirus software has the same number of bugs (if any) that every software product has on the market today. It's not intentional, that's part of the software development process, that is, bugs are a standard issue in programming. Free antivirus software is really a marketing strategy. Give something free with limited capabilities that does the job well, then sell something better with even more capabilities. After all, it's natural to think that if the free product is good, the commercial product would be even better. I personnally use Microsoft Security Essentials, and it commercial counterpart is Microsoft Forefront Client Security. This is a good antivirus yet it's free. If someone even want better protection, then go to the paid version and your requirements are free microsoft anti virus protectionsolved. And, finally answering to your question, free antivirus generally doesn't give 100% protection because it lacks some features only found on the commercial version, But after all, that's the fun about free and commercial versions, that you should be encouraged to buy the paid version (from the software developer point of view, of course).
