michael jackson skin condition vitiligoMichael Jackson skin condition:Plastic surgeries or vitiligo?

I was always 100% sure he made himself white with all the plastic surgeries he went through.
But ever since my friend told me he didn't have any plastic surgeries but had skin cancer,I wondered what she meant.
Earlier I searched about MJ to see some info about his death, but I found out that many people said he hat vitiligo-a skin condition where the pigment changes.
But then why did his nose shape change also? Why didn't it remain the normal big one like black people usually have? Why did it 'shrink' together? <.<
And why was there once a report of him in a store where they caught his face falling apart? (I don't know if this is correct,as I don't remember it clearly)
What's true?Did he or did he not go through several plastic surgeries to change his skin color?
The vitiligo and the plastic surgery are separate issues

Michael did have vitiligo, which is a condition that affects pigmentation in the skin -- destroying it. This happening on a dark-skinned person will be FAR more noticeable than on a light-skinned person. Try to imagine how your own self-esteem would be affected if portions of your skin were becoming another color and you had little or no control over it.

I've met people in person that have it. And, Tempest Bledsoe of The Cosby Show fame --next to youngest daughter -- also has vmichael jackson skin condition vitiligoitiligo. See 3rd link below.
I do not know what other things Michael might have done to deal with the vitiligo, but I imagine make-up was part of the solution when he had to be in public. For all we know, maybe that "one-glove" thing started out as a way to hide the vitiligo on his hand...maybe yes, maybe no!

Apparently it is possible to use skin grafting, but it requires using one's own skin as the grafting material, so it only works for "small" areas. I'm guessing that MJ's was far more intrusive than that.

As for the plastic surgery, that's a separate issue, and he had quite a bit of that. He had more than one surgery on his nose and face, and I DO remember some years back when there was a lot of speculation that he'd far too much. I recall a photo that was shown where it appeared that the tissue was separating at the tip of his nose and starting to expose the cartilage beneath.

None of us can ever know everything that was going on with MJ physiologically or psychologically. But, there's no doubt that his physiological issues had a negative effect on his psychological self.

Hope this helps with your confusion.

first of all PandaX not all black folks have big noses get your facts right. michael jackson had surgery on his nose after he broke it while filming a pmichael jackson skin condition vitiligoepsy commercial. peoples facial features change has they grow older. and even if he did have surgery, so what, the stars do it all the time.

i'm black, some areas of my body are lighter than others and i'm self conscious about that, sometimes i even think about tanning those areas. if i had millions i would find someway to fix it, so if i had vitiligo and i had millions like michael i would do anything to fix it, and thats what he did.

Whether or not he had vitiligo, he definitive had MANY plastic surgeries, and he obviously bleached his skin to be white. Vitiligo is usually very patchy.

I think that his physiological changes were affected by his psychological problems. Not the other way around.
He had his first nose operation because he broke it during a rehearsal and he couldn't breathe correctly. I don't know if he had any after that

He had Vitiligo-- that's why he wore the famous glove on one hand. His hand was white. It got worse, so he decided to color all his skin white, instead of having patches
and lol.......I don't think his face was ever literally "falling apart"
